I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering at the Technical University of of Crete (TUC, Greece) and an Associate Researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research  “Demokritos” (NCSRD, Greece) and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH, Greece).

My work focuses primarily on the theoretical study and numerical modeling of transport processes in porous media, such as soils, fractured rocks, fibrous materials and membranes, across several spatiotemporal scales. I am particularly interested in how pore scale phenomena, rigorously modeled by means of pore-network and pore-scale approaches eventually determine the macroscopic (field) scale behavior of multiphase flows within geologic formations in applications related to Conventional and Enhanced Oil Recovery, Soil Remediation and geologic CO2 sequestration.
